One in five Amber Valley homes are hit by fuel poverty

A partnership to help people bring down their energy bills has been launched after it was revealed one in five homes in Amber Valley is affected by fuel poverty.

The latest available figures from 2010 reveal that 19.1 per cent of all homes in the borough are affected, compared with the national average of 16 per cent. New figures to be published in May are expected to be higher.

A partnership of 12 Derbyshire-based organisations has launched the Cheaper Energy Together Community Partnership to help bring cheaper energy to households across the UK. The partnership will provide a collective and instant energy switching service to get households a better deal through the power of group buying, and also offer free advice and support.
