Youngsters have been busy spending half term getting creative thanks to craft session in Belper.

Fleet Arts ran two classes during the holidays for five to 12 year olds.

The sessions saw children take part in clay modelling and painting.

Jane Milward, administrator at the centre, said: “We run these classes during the school holidays and it allows the kids to use their own initiative.

“The children have been using clay and have been using it with their own ideas.

“They model for each other and then they take them home with them at the end of the day.”

Jane says turnout at the sessions has been excellent, with the children’s imagination skills being honed as a result.

She added: “We have been absolutely packed and the clay in particular has really inspired them all.

“We’ve had full capacity on both days.

“It really gets the children using their imagination.”
