Prolific booze thief is jailed for shoplifting four times in two days

Derbyshire police said Ashley Proctor, 33, previously of Manor Road, Belper, as convicted of number of thefts, as well as one attempted theft, a burglary, a theft from a person and driving away from a petrol station without paying.

"He was sentenced at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on June 6 for the offences which included thefts of alcohol from shops in Wirksworth, Bakewell and Allestree and a burglary in Belper in recent weeks," they said.

Proctor (date of birth January 9 1983) was also given a restraining order by a relative of his after he stole cash, forcing him to stay away from Park Road, Belper indefinitely.

He faces a 52-week sentence in prison.

- Shop theft on February 11, two weeks concurrent

- Theft from a shop on March 17 - two weeks concurrent.

- Shop on March 22, 12 weeks concurrent.

- Shop theft on March 22 again, 12 consecutive.

- Shop theft on March 23, 12 weeks consecutive.

- Attempted theft on May 2 - five week concurrent

- Theft from a shop on May 6 - five weeks concurrent

- Another theft from shop on May 6 - five weeks concurrent

- Shop theft on May 7 - five weeks 'forthwith'

- Another shop theft on May 7 - five weeks consecutive

Making off without payment at a petrol station - two weeks concurrent

- Breach of prison licence - two weeks consecutive

- Theft from a person on May 22 - 16 weeks consecutive and £40 compensation to the injured party and a restraining order for an indefinite period, not to contact a relative of his, Thyllis Proctor, directly or indirectly, and not to go onto Park Road, Belper.
