Bookworms at two Belper Schools are starting a new chapter in their education thanks to a £150 donation to mark World Book Day. Pupils at Pottery School and Kilburn Infants were handed the cash byhousebuilder Peveril Homes. And Colin Wright and Anabel Christmas from the company took time out of their busy schedules to read to children before handing them over.

Mr Wright said: “It’s a great event which we always try to get involved with and what better way to do it than with a book donation that links directly with the national curriculum.” Louise Hancock, a teacher from Kilburn Infants, said: “We would like to thank the company for the kind donation.” Pictured: Colin Wright reads to Kilburn pupils Holly Redfern, seven, Tobie McGuire, six, and Junior Docherty, seven.
