Regulars at a Belper pub decided not to swap Christmas cards - and raised more than £400 for charity.
Drinkers at the Fisherman’s Rest in Broadholme Lane donated money they would have spent on festive greetings on two large hampers and four other prizes instead.
The goods were then raffled off in aid of the Belper Cottage Project, which provides a space for groups and organisations ranging from a luncheon club for elderly people to a family contact centre to meet.

Following the presentaion, Belper Cottage project chairman, Jackie Cox, thanked the pub regulars for their “sterling efforts”.
