Riots comedy wins short play contest

A comedy set against the background of the London riots, has won the Belper Short Play Competition.

Janice Hallett’s script scooped £250, beating 350 entries from Australia, Canada and California.

Organiser George Gunby. “RIOT! was a unanimous choice with the judges. Come and see it, you will be in for a treat.”

The festival runs from May 22 to May 25.
