Roadworks on way for holidays

One of Belper's busiest roads will be subject to hold-ups for more than a month during the summer holidays.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place for up to six weeks at The Triangle when 80,000 roadworks begin on Monday, July 27.

Derbyshire County Council plans to install new traffic lights, resurface the footpath and put in new paving at the site.

It is part of a programme to update all traffic signals around the county.

The work will start just as the summer holidays begin for thousands of children in Belper, affecting two main routes out of the town towards Ashbourne and Matlock.
