School meals in Belper are free from horse meat, says Derbyshire County Council.

The authority said its meals use meat produced on two local organic farms.

Councillor Mike Longden, Cabinet member for education, said: “In the wake of the national concern this issue is causing, I’m keen to pre-empt any worries.”
