Somercotes fuel theft

A large amount of diesel was stolen from a Somercotes business over the Christmas break.

Sometime between Friday, December 21 at 8am and Wednesday, January 2 a business on Wimsey Way Industrial Estate was broken into.

Offices were broken into and keys to vehicles were taken. Fuel cards were then stolen from the vehicles stored in the yard.

The fuel cards were then used at junction 29 Truck Stop and other fuel stations in the East Midlands where a large amount of diesel was purchased.

Police are appealing to anyone that may have been offered to purchase diesel recently to contact them using the non-emergency 101 number.

To report crime anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
