Staff and customers help raise cash
KIND-HEARTED staff and customers at a clothing store in Belper have helped raise cash for Cancer Research UK.
The M&Co shop on King Street raised £1,529 for the charity.
The shop, alongside other M&Co stores across the UK, has been fundraising tirelessly for the cancer charity since 2008.
A variety of fundraising activities have taken place, which included the King Street store becoming a donation station for quality unwanted clothes during October last year.
Other fundraising events have included fashion shows, raffles, sponsored walks and skydives, with £850,00 raised nationally.
Andy McGeoch, of M&Co, said: “It is really fantastic that everyone has worked together to raise so much for Cancer Research UK. We have given ourselves a target of raising £1m for Cancer Research UK before July 2012 and we will strive to achieve this. Employees throughout the company, both in our stores and head office, have championed our fundraising and made a real difference to the amount we raised. I’d also like to thank our customers in Belper for getting involved and helping us in our efforts.
“M&Co is dedicated to helping the fight against cancer and supporting Cancer Research UK.”
