THE Café of the Year competition is hotting up – could your favourite eatery be crowned winner?

This is when we ask readers of the Belper News to vote for the best of the bangers, the cream of the cuppas, and tell us which cafe really takes the bacon as the best in the area.

Up until now it’s been about the nominations, but we have deliberated, cogitated and come up with a shortlist of those cafés you have judged as being worthy of the title.

Some were nominated for their outstanding food, while others were submitted because of their attention to detail and their fantastic customer service.

We’ve received hundreds of nominations and now we need you to do one more thing - vote for your winner.

All you need to do is pick your favourite entry from the shortlist, fill out the form and send it back to us, or send us a text message, by 10am on September 1.

Once the votes are in, the one with the most will be named winner.

The winning café will be presented with a plaque and be featured in the Belper News.

Julie Crouch, editor ot the Belper News, said: “We have some fantastic cafés in our area and it’s about time their hard work in keeping everyone going was recognised.

“I don’t know how the readers will be able to make a decision, as just by looking
at the shortlist it’s obvious how tough the competition is.

“I’d encourage everyone to fill out the form below
to support their favourite cafe.”
