Youth fought off mugger

A young man fought off a knife-wielding mugger in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 20-year-old man was walking home along Wall Street, Ripley at around 12.45am on Sunday, November 4, when he was approached by a man holding a knife who demanded the victim hand over his property.

There was a struggle between the pair and the offender ran off. Nothing was stolen.

The offender is described as white, between 22 and 25-years-old, around 5ft 10in tall and of slim build. He was wearing a black hooded top, a black baseball cap, dark coloured Adidas tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information.

Anyone with information is asked to call Amber Valley CID on the non-emergency 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
