Lotto grant for project

a COMMUNITY project in Belper is celebrating after securing more than £2,000 in Lottery funding.

The Belper Cottage Project, on Chapel Street, has been granted £2,189.

The cash will be put towards a new computer and toys, as well as tabards for staff and volunteers.

Belper Town councillor Jackie Cox, who has been chairman of the Cottage Project for the past six years, said: “We are over the moon. Someone up there must have thought we deserved some luck. I would like to thank everyone at the Cottage Project who has worked so hard to keep the place as it is.”

The Cottage Project has been running for 16 years and provides facilities for the local community.
