A MAN who assaulted a police officer after he was caught with heroin and crack cocaine in Duffield has been jailed for three years.
Omar Hussain, 23, was arrested after officers stopped the car he was travelling in on Station Road on May 9, 2010.
Hussain, of Madeley Street, Derby, dropped the drugs and tried to run, but was caught and assaulted an officer as he was arrested.
During a search at Hussain’s house police found a bank card that did not belong to him and he was arrested for theft. He took the card from a friend’s car in April, 2010.
He was charged with possession of heroin with intent to supply, possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply, assault and theft from a motor vehicle. He pleaded guilty to all the charges.
