Memorial hall to receive lottery cash

A village hall which built in memory of Florence Nighingale has been given more than £2,700 for improvements by the Big Lottery.

The Nightingale family provided a site for the Florence Nightingale memorial Hall in 1932. The foundation stone was laid by the then Prince of Wales and in 1982 Princess Anne laid the foundation stone of an extension.

Now the hall, which still hosts many community events in Holloway has become one of 53 projects in the East Midlands to successfully apply for an Awards for All grant from the lottery.
