three county councillors have presented a cheque of £1,000 to representatives from the Belper North Mill Trust.

Derbyshire councillors Stuart Bradford, Peter Makin and Chris Jackson visited Strutt’s North Mill and the Derwent Valley Heritage Centre to hand over the cash.

It will help to fund the Renaissance Midlands project exhibition, which is entitled ‘The Strutts and Innovation’ and is taking place between Wednesday, April 20 and Monday, May 2.

There will be family events taking place during the period of the exhibition, as well as local primary schools also contributing their own projects.

The money has come from Derbyshire County Council’s Community Leadership Scheme, which provides small grants to community, voluntary, youth and other local organisations selected by councillors.
