a MAZE-like mile-long knitting installation was one of the central attractions during a ’Night’ at the museum in Belper.
The basement at Strutt’s North Mill was home to the fascinating work by French artist Flore Gardner.
It was part of the Europe-wide Museums at Night spectacular.
There was also a chance to meet mill workers for story-telling, and to view rarely-screened videos showing the story of the mill.
Also, there were special tours, and treasure hunts for children.
A spokesman for the mill said: “It was an exciting event and helps people appreciate how special the museum is. Flore’s installation was fascinating.”
The European Museums at Night saw 3,000 museums in 40 countries across Europe hosting fun and fascinating events into the evening and night. Some even held sleepovers.
