A CHARITY shop in Belper held a party to celebrate its third birthday.

The Lighthouse, on King Street, marked its milestone by serving tea and cakes.

Emma Dunkerley, who is assistant manager of the shop, said: “It was really good.

“We had quite a few people come in for a cup of tea, a piece of cake, and a chat.

“It was about raising awareness of the shop and the charity we support. A lot of people came in and had a look around.”

The shop supports the charity Valley CIDS, which aims to support children and families through outreach work in schools and the wider community.

Emma said: “It helps children raise their aspirations.”
