EXCITED people — young and old — went along to Belper Library to be transported back to Victorian times.
As part of the celebrations to mark the tenth anniversary of the Derwent Valley Mills being declared a World Heritage Site, visitors to the library on Bridge Street could have their photographs taken in Victorian fancy dress.
Families and individuals dressed up to pay just 25p for a snap. One woman was particularly excited by the event and revealed she also collected Victorian underwear!
The library also hosted trace your ancestor sessions, history classes, a photo quiz, and photo displays.
