A COURAGEOUS woman from Belper who has beaten breast cancer has raised more than £500 for a charity that helps people who are suffering from the disease.

Tracy Drake, of Naseby Road, raised £507.42 for Breast Cancer Care by holding a Pink Friday event at her workplace, the Halifax in Derby.

She got her colleagues to wear pink all day, buy cakes and play games such as guess the bra size. Customers also got involved in the fun.

Tracy said: “It was a great day and I want to thank everyone for their donations.”

In the evening at Tracy’s home her friends and family visited to eat cake and drink wine. Daughter Anna said: “I am very proud of my mum.”
