Police are appealing for information after a swing was damaged at a play area in Pinxton.
The edging around the basket swing, in the park between Wharf Road and Glebe Avenue, was damaged sometime between 9am and 2pm on Thursday, April 24.
PCSO Marion Jeffery said: “The swing has had to be removed for repairs because the damage left the equipment unsafe, at a time when more youngsters will want to enjoy the play area during the bank and school holidays.
“It is both disappointing and sad because it is an area created for the community to enjoy, and will cost almost £100 to fix. I would urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to contact us.
“We will also be making patrols to the area to reassure local residents and to help deter this unacceptable behaviour.”
Anyone with information should contact Derbyshire police on 101, the non emergency number, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
