Popular festival finds a new home

a POPULAR music festival in Belper, which was without a venue for this year’s event, has found a new home.

The organisers of the Belper Music Festival were struggling to find somewhere to stage it after the usual host, the town’s rugby club, pulled out.

The festival, which attracts 500 revellers every year, had been held at the rugby club since its inception in 2005.

But now, after a frantic search, the festival is to go ahead, under the title Belper ‘Exile’ Music Festival.

It will be held on July 1, 2 and 3 at Sabine Hay, off Oldfield Lane, Darley Dale. A spokesman said: “The festival is all ready to settle into its new home in a beautiful location.”
