Praise for Belper School students after GCSE results

Belper School’s headteacher has praised the school’s pupils after another good set of GCSE results this year.

Sixty per cent of the school’s year 11 students have achieved at least five A*-C grades, including English and Maths.

Headteacher Martyn Cooper has heaped praise on the pupils.

He said: “Belper School achieved 60% of students gaining five or more A*-C grades, including English and Maths.

“Within this statistic there are some very strong performances and some extremely pleasing outcomes which we are very proud of.

“So many have stepped up to the plate and absolutely smashed it!

“We are delighted for these individuals.

“Particular mention should go to Sophie Hext and Rebecca Lock who both got nine A* and one A; Alexander Shelley, who got seven A* and three As; and Isabelle Boon, who got five A* and five As.”
