More than 450 Belper schoolchildren took to the stage to perform two concerts and put together a professional recording. The performances followed a five-day project with the iSingPOP group, which runs sessions across the UK.
Pupils from St John’s C ofE Primary School sang in front of 1,000 parents at St Peter’s Church, who could then buy a CD.
Head teacher at St John’s, Dr Peter Blunsdon said: “It’s a great event that the children really enjoy, bringing students, the church and the community closer together.”
Rev Anne Stratton said: “It is an exciting way for the children to explore positive ideas of respect, goodness, forgiveness and love.”
