Reader letter: Thank you to Heage residents

editorial image

The Heage Committee of Action Medical Research would like to thank the residents of Heage, Nether Heage and Upper Hartsay for supporting the Santa Sleigh that visited the areas on Sunday 21 December.

The weather was fantastic, dry, but cool, so Santa was able to say hello to lots of children who came out to see what the noise was.

The collectors were kept very busy and raised £446.08, while being able to hand out sweets kindly donated by Thorntons.

An amazing amount to raise in one evening.

This was added to the raffle money, £295, from the very generous customers at The Black Boy in Heage.

Ange and Dave are great supporters of the charity and the committee would like to thank them for all their hard work on behalf of the charity over the last year.

The committee is already looking forward to the 30th Annual Garden Party which will be held at 57 Ripley Road, Heage on Saturday 16 May 2015.

Paddington, the star of the recent film of the same name, will be appearing at the event which will help raise money for vital medical research.
