A 16-YEAR-OLD from Belper has been praised for going the extra recycling mile.
Now Daniel Freeman is in line to be a prize winner with Derbyshire County Council .
The council is looking for those who do that little bit extra for recycling.
Daniel won praise from his mum, Linda, who said: “Even if he’s been out to see friends and had a drink he’ll always bring the bottle home to rinse, crush and recycle it with the rest.”
The Freemans have recycled for a decade. They compost, give their animals food clippings and collect plastic bottles.
Linda said: “Day to day all we do is wash things, squash them and collect them by the back door. It’s easy to do, but I think there could be more facilities to drop it off.”
