Review: The Feeling at Derby Assembly Rooms

The five-piece outfit from down south rattled though their infectious tunes from their two albums with lashings of enthusiasm to the delight of the crowd, who joined in with gusto to tracks including Never Be Lonley, Join With Us and Turn It Up.

Frontman Dan Gillespie Sells leads the line well, but none of the Brit-nominated band are adversed to leaping around the stage and entire venue for that matter, leaving the audience in no doubt that the boys like being quite literally in amongst the crowd.

Sells dived into the audience at one point and was passed over the heads of the crowd to the back of the venue. He went on to do an accoustic number from the balcony. Later the entire band marched through the crowd with instruments before launching into the encore.

They had begun the set with a series of You Tube videos of their fans singing karaoke versions of their hits, displayed on a giant curtain across the entire stage, which fell dramatically to the floor as the band burst into song.

By the encore, the crowd were on their feet and shouting along to the tunes as the band blasted out versions of the Kink's You Really Got Me and Aerosmith's Walk This Way - it was fun all the way.
