Royal bash goes 1980s

a play and party centre in Belper is to host a 1980s-themed children’s indoor street party for this Friday’s royal wedding.

In memory of Charles and Diana’s nuptials in 1981 and to celebrate William and Kate’s big day, Chucklebutties, which is at the North Mill, is hosting an afternoon of face-painting, party games, skittles, hook-a-duck, races and craft activities.

Andrea Thomas, of Chucklebutties, said: “Do you remember the last big royal wedding in 1981? Don’t you wish your kids could celebrate this royal wedding at a street party like you did in the 80s?”

For the price of a normal session, the fun starts at 2pm and all children up to a height of 4ft 9in can go. There will be bunting, flags, balloons and food. Anyone dressed as a bride or groom, or in 80s attire, will get freebies. For more information ring 01773 880123.
