The outstanding Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra will be back at Buxton Opera House next month, with the dreamy sounds of Debussy’s Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune.

Following the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic’s summer performance of The Last Waltz, an all-Strauss programme presented by John Suchet, the orchestra will be making a welcome return on November 9 at 7pm.

Along with Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune, the programme will feature Mozart’s Concerto in A major for Clarinet & Orchestra and Brahms, Symphony No. 3 in F major.

Joining the orchestra for this concert will be Benjamin Mellefont, who was appointed principal clarinetist of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in October 2015. Mellefont began playing the clarinet in 2002 and studied at the Royal College of Music in London. He has won numerous competitions and prizes and is an alumnus of the London Sinfonietta Academy and Britten-Pears Young Artists Programme.

Conducting this concert will be Romania’s Cristian Mandeal,
