THE STAR of this week’s Rescue Me appeal is a handsome Staffie by the name of Rufus.
He is about two years old and was left at the RSPCA centre in Derby after being abandoned by his owners.
According to the shelter’s communities manager Karen Carter, the young canine knows some commands but would benefit from further training.
She said: “He enjoys playing with his toys, especially tug of war. “He makes the staff laugh as he chooses a particular toy in his mouth and spins around on the spot!”
To arrange to see Rufus call the centre on 01332 344620, or pop into the the RSPCA animal shelter on Abbey Street, Derby.
The shelter also has other dogs, cats and rabbits which are desperate for new homes and loving owners, she said.
