Wedding planning is becoming such a popular career choice that a national training school is to be launched in Belper.

Shottle Hall, which is already a popular wedding venue, plans to hold two-day training courses with seminars from experts and offer those completing the course some valuable work experience.

Among the experts drafted in are Anna Cartwright, a wedding planner who runs My Wedding Angel, and Scott Fuller who owns a Derbyshire training provider called Kajoler. Lauren Smith, who graduated with an Events and Festival Management degree, has been recruited to help establish the Wedding Events and Planning Alliance. The first course will be held at Shottle Hall on September 21 and 22. Contact www.wepa.org.uk.
