Belper School has been presented with a coveted award for embracing learning technology.
The school picked up the Silver SAM Learning accolade for staff and student engagement.
Pupils use SAM Learning, which is an online educational service, in all subjects to supplement their classroom work. Teachers also use the service to set homework.
Headteacher Trevor Harding said: “We are delighted to receive the Silver award from SAM. It’s a credit to the students and staff. It’s great to see students working so hard both in and out of school.
“But what has really pleased us is the huge amount of independent learning this has generated.”
Justin Baron, of SAM Learning, added: “It is fantastic to see the hard work students put in without teachers compelling them to do so and even better when it all pays off with improved results.”
