scouts have braved the pouring rain to raise £280 at a car boot sale they hosted in Belper.
The 1st Openwoodgate group held the sale, and a barbecue, at the Greyhound Inn in the town.
There was also a bouncy castle, face painting, penalty shoot-outs, a raffle and a cake stall.
Stella Gregory, of the Scout group, said: “It did rain all morning, but it went fine.
“We had ten cars selling stuff. The amount we raised for a Saturday morning in the pouring rain was good.
“It did turn out nice in the afternoon though, so the children got on to the bouncy castle.”
The money will go into the Scouts’ fund.
The Openwoodgate group meets at St Mark’s Church. They are split into Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
