A CONCERT at a school in Belper has raised £250 for the Babington Hospital League of Friends charity.

The Derbyshire Constabulary Male Voice Choir sang a variety of songs after being welcomed by Ray Asher, the charity’s chairman.

A packed audience at the Strutt School were treated to Christmas delights such as ‘In Dulci Jubilo’ and ‘Morning Star’.

The choir’s musical director, Christina Powell, and first tenor Damian Booth, sang a duet of ‘Walking in the Air’ from the famous animated film, ‘The Snowman’.

Dawn Litchfield, the concert’s organiser, said that the evening had been a great success and confirmed the amount raised for the charity.

The Derby-based choir has been raising cash for charity for 53 years. New members are welcome. Visit www.derbyshire.police.uk/who/malevoicechoir.html.
