Nothing signals spring like the sight of bright yellow daffodils fluttering under cloudless blue skies.

Despite recent flurries of snow and a disappointing Bank Holiday which was marred by bucketing rain and grey clouds, one thing is certain - Belper has never looked lovelier!

Our photographer Brian Eyre took to the streets and snapped a vivid array of beautifully coloured flowers throughout the town as Belper girds its loins for the forthcoming Britain in Bloom competition. Mayor Alan Cox said: “The Belper in Bloom campaign is doing very well at the moment. It would be a fantastic thing for the town if we can win!”
