Staff get on bikes

More than 100 employees at Derbyshire County Council are using bikes to get to work and local meetings, rather than by car, following the introduction of a new initiative called ‘cycle to work’. The scheme was recently launched by the Government to encourage the use of cycles.

Staff can hire a new bike and associated equipment under a tax relief scheme which means that they also save money.

Cllr John Harrisonsaid: “I’m pleased that so many of our employees have taken the opportunity to take part in the scheme.
