STAFF at two petrol stations in the Belper area have thrown their support behind a campaign to improve road safety for children.

Employees at the Jet garages on Derby Road, in Lower Kilburn, and on Nottingham Road, Belper, have teamed up with road safety charity Brake to launch Jet’s ‘20 is Plenty’ campaign.

The scheme, which started on Monday, June 13 and is running until Sunday, July 3, is encouraging drivers to sign up and pledge that they will drive at no more than 20mph in built-up areas.

A Jet spokesman said: “Jet sites across the country are taking part in the ‘20 is Plenty’ campaign.

“We are delighted to be bringing the campaign to our local area.

“Road safety is such an important issue for local families so we hope to see our community join together in support of this by pledging to drive at 20mph or below in built up areas.”
