HOMES in Belper area are being given cut-price burglar alarms to help fight crime.
And latest figures show that 95 per cent of people who have had an alarm fitted in the county council scheme have not been targeted by burglars again.
Derbyshire County Council has set aside £120,000 to allow the scheme to continue for a year. Homeowners are asked to contribute £75 towards the cost of installation. It is free for those on benefits.
