Music lovers basked in the sunshine as Belper’s season of concerts in the River Gardens continued at the weekend.

Larks in the Parks began last month and is a chance for people to enjoy a range of different music during the summer months.

On Sunday it was the turn of youngsters from The Drop Inn centre on Derwent Street in the town to take to the stage and perform. It was organised by Jasper, a music tutor who heads up open mic nights at the centre for young people.

Andrea Fox, founder of the Drop Inn, said: “The turn-out was pretty good and I was impressed with the young people - there is a lot of talent out there.

“It was a great atmosphere and the weather was fantastic. It was a nice chilled out afternoon and I am proud of them.”

Among the acts performing on the bandstand in the gardens on Sunday were Toby Ingram, Laurie Illingworth. and friends Lily and Amy.

Larks in the Park continues until the end of August with the next session on Sunday, July 21, when Belper Musical Theatre will take to the stage at 2pm.
