THREE people were taken to hospital after a three-car crash in Sawmills.

An Audi A3, a Ford Transit tipper, and a Ford Escort were involved in the smash on the A610, which happened at about 3.55pm on Thursday, August 4.

A police spokeswoman said the Transit collided with the back of the Escort, which was then pushed into the rear of the Audi.

The three people in the Escort, including the female driver, were taken to hospital suffering from whiplash.

The Escort was deemed no longer driveable because of the damage caused by the crash. Police said the drivers of the Audi and Transit were unhurt.
