delighted toddlers at a pre-school in Belper went on a bear hunt to celebrate World Book Day.
The fun activity was part of a range of things to do for youngsters and their parents at Dandelion Clock Pre-School, which is based at the Strutts Centre, on Derby Road.
There was also a range of costumes on display as the children, who are aged between two and five, dressed up as characters from their favourite books.
Consequently, Spiderman mingled with a dinosaur, doctors chatted to witches and dogs got along with fairies!
Louise Butler, the pre-school leader, who dressed up as Enid Blyton’s Noddy for the day, said: “It was a very successful day.
“The children explored the story sacks we had made up for them that were full of different activities related to books.
“We also read to the children and acted out the ‘We Are Going on a Bear Hunt’ book in the playground.”
World Book Day is a national strategy aimed at getting children interested in books.
