Traditional Christmas decorations will be the focus of a workshop being held by a top local artist in support of Belper’s Fleet Arts centre.
The session - run by Tan Draig OBE - will be raising cash to help the organisation carry on the work it has been doing in the area since 1985.
Aimed at children over the age of five as well as adults it will take place at Fleet Arts base on The Fleet on Saturday, November 23 from 2 – 4pm.
Fleet Arts’ Director, Sarah Laman, said: “Lots of people know Tan and his workshops, so it’s great that he is running this workshop for us.
“He is happy to welcome adults too, so they can take part themselves and make their own decorations.
“Tan has said they will be easy to make, so that everyone goes home with two or more, and they will be colourful and jolly - the sort of thing you can hang up, either on the Christmas tree or anywhere else you fancy.
“One of the decorations will be a cornucopia – a horn-shaped decoration that people can fill with their own choice of seeds, nuts or dried fruit when theyhang them up. “
People who are interested in attending the session are urged to contact Fleet Arts soon to ensure they are reserved a place.
The cost is £3.25 for children and £4.25 for adults, including all materials.
