PLANS to put Matlock’s towns and shops on the map have been given a helping hand thanks to the work of creative kids.
The recently-formed Town Team – made up of traders eager to boost the area’s economy – asked schoolchildren to design a poster to place in the windows of their shops to show customers they support the scheme.
And from the dozens of entries from pupils at St Giles’ Primary, All Saints’ Infants and Castle View Primary, the winners were chosen as Daisy Godfrey and Robbie Smith.
For their efforts, they won locally-made Easter eggs donated by Crown Square’s Little Gem, and a family meal donated by Maazi’s Indian restaurant.
The designs have now been handed to Bullitt Display Solutions Ltd in Smedley Street, which has offered to turn them into window stickers and print them free of charge.
Danielle Barker, who runs Bellissima jewellery shop and is a Town Team member, said: “The children have put lots of effort in and we had some really good ones.”
“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped in the project and those who donated prizes.”
