Two cars on fire after Amber Valley crash

A man had to be freed from a burning car by firefighters after a road traffic collision last night.

Crews from Belper and Nottingham Road attended a call at around 8.30pm on Monday, November 15 in Derby Road, Coxbench after a crash between two cars led to a fire.

Derbyshire Fire & Rescue said: We attended an incident on Derby Road, Coxbench involving two vehicles. A driver had to be extricated from a car and was injured.

Derbyshire police added: "Two cars were on fire, a Hyundai coupe and a Honda jazz. Ambulance attended and a man was injured.

"The driver was taken to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, not with serious injuries, but was kept overnight.

"The scene was cleared at 10.25pm."
