VILLAGE gardeners saw their big moment arrive as their green-fingered creations were put to competition judges.
The Kilburn Parish Council Garden of the Year Competition saw 25 entries from residents in the small village.
The keen floral fanatics put the finishing touches to their gardens for Mayor of Amber Valley Ron Ashton and Chairman of Kilburn Parish Council Cllr David Hall to make the final decisions.
Three prizes were up for grabs for best hanging basket, best floral arrangement and for the best landscaping.
The winners will be awarded with certificates at the next parish council meeting.
Cllr Ashton said: “The standard was very good, it was very hard to make the decision.”
The garden competition takes place every year.
It is hugely popular with residents in the village as they compete to claim the prestigious title of the owner of the top garden in Kilburn.
