AN MP and two mayors attended an open meeting of the Belper District 50-Plus Forum.
Mid-Derbyshire Conservative MP Pauline Latham, Amber Valley Mayor Cllr Ron Ashton, and Belper’s mayor Cllr Alan Cox, were present at the get-together at Belper Town FC.
Chairman of the forum Brian Milhench said: “Our guests of honour enjoyed it and Ms Latham said she would like to be invited to other open meetings.
“Attendance was not has high as was expected, but the entertainment was better than first class.”
The entertainment came from the Long Row Primary School choir and Musical Dimensions. A raffle featuring prizes from forum members, De Bradelei mill, Boots and Morrisons, among others, raised £61. A buffet was provided thanks to a grant from Amber Valley CVS, which provides support for voluntary and community groups.
