twenty-seven brides-to-be said “I do” to a spectacular wedding fair at a church in Belper.

The prospective wives went along to the event at the Central Methodist Church, on Chapel Street, to see what the church had to offer as a wedding venue. There were also a host of stalls on show, featuring photographers, cakes, wedding favours, flowers, decorations and balloons.

Inside the church there was a display of wedding gowns from the 1940s up to the present day. It was also decorated inside with a variety of flowers.

Outside, guests marvelled at two old-style wedding cars that were parked in the car park.

Doreen Scotney, a church steward, said: “It went well and was a successful day. The weather was really nice and there were plenty of people there, as well as plenty of businesses.

“We wanted to show people what a nice church we have, which is a nice venue for people to get married.”
