MEMBERS of the Belper Women’s Institute (WI) were on the right track when they chose a recent outing.
For more than 40 members and friends enjoyed a day out on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway.
The outing was arranged by WI member Joan Blower. It followed a recent talk to members by volunteers from the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway on the transformation from a disused railway to new heritage line.
On the day, WI members and their friends met in Wirksworth and, following a return journey on a specially-chartered train, explored the town and visited the many tea rooms.
Penny Walker, a member of the WI, said: “The weather was kind and the day was enjoyed by all.”
Belper WI meet on the first Tuesday of each month at the Congregational Church, on Green Lane in the town, at 7.15pm. New members are always welcome.
