A WOMAN has died after being pulled from the River Derwent in Milford on Saturday morning.
Police officers were called to a spot near the weir at 8.10am after a report of a woman in the river.
Inspector Bob Mee, of Derbyshire police, said the woman was located after police were joined by fire and ambulance crews at the scene.
She was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital and later pronounced dead.
The name of the woman has not yet been released as she still had to be formally identified, he said.
He added that inquiries into the circumstances surrounding her death were on going and the coroner would be informed.
