AMGBERGATE kickboxer Scott ‘Fat Boy’ Taylor is hoping to fulfil his dream of becoming a world champion this Saturday.
Taylor, 24, takes on defending world champion Illia Usachev from Russia for the 67kg WFK [World Federation Kickboxing] title at Kelham Hall near Newark.
Ever since he began kickboxing at the age of eight, Scott has been working towards being the best in the world.
He turned professional at 16-years-old and carried on his winning ways to become Midland area champion, English champion, British champion at two different categories and European champion with a fight record of 38 wins out of 39.
Scott trains six days a week as well as holding down a full-time job.
However, he now faces perhaps his toughest test ever as Russian Usachev has huge experience gained from having had over 250 fights.
Taylor is undaunted though. He said: “To be the best you have to beat the best. I am in the best shape of my life and I will be more than happy to go the full 12 rounds if needs be.”
Scott is also fighting for the WKA world title against Simon Okufu in Birmingham at the end of October.
Tickets for the event are available from Stuart Taylor on 07812 014896 and transport is also available for anyone wishing to travel to support Scott. A coach will depart from Ripley market place at 5.15pm.
